Teresa Bates has been promoted to executive director of Edgemere, a renowned senior living campus in North Dallas, Texas. Bringing 25 years of experience in senior living, Teresa first joined Edgemere in 2002 and played a key role in the opening of its health center. Over the next 17 years, she held various positions within the community before returning as the associate executive director in 2022.
In 2022, she made her way back to the community in her role as assistant executive director. Now, as executive director, Teresa oversees day-to-day operations and strives to exceed expectations while providing a safe, welcoming atmosphere for residents, team members and guests. Her resident-centered approach is well-known and respected throughout the entire Edgemere continuum.
Her passion for serving seniors was inspired by her mother’s work with elders and a mentor’s encouragement to join the leadership team of a company that owned and managed senior living communities.
“I am honored to take on the role as executive director at Edgemere,” said Teresa. “The community holds a special place in my heart – having spent more than half of my career serving seniors here. Taking on this new responsibility is rewarding, and I look forward to making a difference in the lives of seniors in Dallas.”
David Lawlor, president and CEO of the managing company, the Long Hill Company, is thrilled about her promotion.
“We look forward to collaborating with Teresa and her leadership team to continue delivering an extraordinary senior living experience that our residents have come to expect and has positioned us as the number one continuing care retirement community in Texas in 2024 by Newsweek.”
