Soothing the senses, easing anxiety, and inviting stillness, the one-of-a-kind Memory Atelier provides an oasis for those living with memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The Atelier provides elements that soothe, such as gentle lighting and our state-of-the-art Vital-Ease® Chair, a key part of our sensory care approach. This specialized chair uses gentle rocking, soft vibration, and calming music to help residents find peace without medication. In a recent 16-week clinical trial, residents who used the chair just three times per week showed significant reductions in agitation and irritability, and staff reported less stress and improved interactions.
