Teresa Bates
Executive Director
Teresa joined Edgemere in March 2022, bringing more than 25 years of experience in the senior living industry. Teresa opened the health center at Edgemere in 2002 and held several positions within the organization. She was ultimately elevated to vice president of health services, operations. She left the organization in mid-2019 for two and a half years before returning to her roots at Edgemere in early 2022.
Teresa’s introduction to the senior living industry occurred when her mother, a nurse, began working with seniors. After Teresa had completed college, her mentor, who owned and managed senior living communities, extended an invitation for her to join their leadership team. It was during these times that Teresa’s deep affection and passion for serving seniors blossomed.
Teresa earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on finance and economics from Southern Arkansas University and a master of science degree in operations management from the University of Arkansas.
Teresa finds joy in spending quality time with her husband and their two beautiful children. Additionally, she takes pleasure in engaging with her church community, pursuing gardening as a hobby, volunteering at her children’s school, maintaining an active lifestyle through running, and staying informed and entertained through podcasts.
